'Judiciary working hard to come up to expectations'

KARACHI: Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry said on Saturday that all state institutions are bound to perform their responsibilties wthin the ambit of constitution, adding that the judiciary is responsible for dispensing justice to the people and it is working hard to come up to people's expectations.

Addressing the first judicial conference in Karachi, the chief justice said the executive, legislature and judiciary should not interfere in the  jurisdictional domains of each other.

The Chief Justice said an independent judiciary is vital for the rule of law in the country.

The chief justice said the judiciary is the guardian of constitution and people's rights, adding cooperation between bar and bench can be enhanced through academies.
