K-P govt extends deadline for distribution of Watan Cards
Deadline extended to June 28 for distribution of cards among last year's flood-affected victims.
Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government extended the deadline for distribution of Watan Cards among last year’s flood-affected victims till June 28.
Spokesperson of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Adnan Khan said that the last day to receive Watan Cards was June 25 but has now been extended as they were not received by all the flood affectees.
Khan added that the district administration has Watan Cards for more than 17,000 people affected by the floods, while the total number of families affected is more than 200,000.
Earlier, the United States government transferred $190 million for the rehabilitation of flood affectees, while the World Bank announced $125 million for the Watan Card programme and the UK pledged an additional 60 million pounds.
