ISLAMABAD: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry former president Dr Nauman Idris said that Sialkot was contributing 10% to Pakistan’s total exports with annual exports of $2.5 billion. He added that the share of exports would be further enhanced to improve Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and revive the economy. While addressing the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Butt said that apart from promoting exports, the businessmen of Sialkot have made useful contributions to the development of the local economy. They have made efforts to establish dry port and airport on self-finance basis, while they are now making efforts to launch an airline. He said the experience of Sialkot’s private sector should be replicated across the country to accelerate economic growth.
