Bakht for developing all districts of Punjab
Steps were being taken for urbanisation of the province by focusing on missing facilities in small cities
LAHORE:
Punjab has greater responsibilities as it is the largest province and the biggest contributor to the gross domestic product, hence the performance of all its districts is crucial to make the federation work collectively, said Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht. Addressing the 25th Senior Management Course participants on Wednesday, the provincial minister said the Punjab government was activating all of its districts in the new growth strategy to improve the performance of all units. He said steps were being taken for urbanisation of the province by focusing on missing facilities in small cities and less developed areas. Bakht said that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the cottage industry were other priority areas for Punjab, while the next five-year growth in Punjab was dependent on agriculture, which is why the government was giving proper attention to these areas. The government was conducting a spatial strategy, through which it will conduct aerial survey and check the available potential and issues, in order to develop better policies and development programmes, the minister stated.
