KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the McDonald’s Pakistan inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to put together a special offer for the passengers of the national flag carrier at a ceremony held at the McDonald’s Airport Branch in Karachi.

The PIA CEO Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik, the PIA Chief Commercial Officer Ali Tahir Qasim, the McDonald’s Pakistan Chief Operations, Marketing, Development & Supply Chain Officer Jamil Mughal as well as the airline’s officials attended the ceremony.

Arshad Malik sharing his views on the occasion said: “This union is a great opportunity for both the brands to come together for the combined benefit of customers and improvement in value chain.” He was also happy to declare this collaboration as the beginning of many more exciting ventures to come.

18 new planes, new routes planned for PIA

Speaking at the ceremony, Jamil Mughal said, “The collaboration between McDonald’s and the PIA is a perfect coupling. With this, we are proud to have joined hands with the national flag carrier and take the experience of travelling to even greater heights.”-

As part of the agreement, McDonald’s will be branding the boarding passes with its special offer that will be valid at all McDonald's restaurants for the PIA passengers. This is sure to be a valuable proposition for both the brands as PIA has over 6 million passengers, including local and international flyers.

Both the brands are looking to explore multiple collaborative opportunities, such as serving McCafe coffee during all PIA flights and at various airport lounges.

AK | 5 years ago | Reply Teaming up with McDonald will send an entirely negative message to many passengers. However, I hope that PIA does not offer junk food on flights. I will certainly stop using the airline if it does.
