KARACHI:

The Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) has cordial links with militant organisations and it is following their footsteps, said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon during the Sindh Assembly session on Friday.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and his brother, Shahbaz Sharif, would soon take charge as commanders of the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Reacting to the statements of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, who, according to Memon, is the supreme commander of Sharif brothers, he quoted Sanaullah saying that the president’s release from jail was the result of a deal.

“Maulvi Nawaz Sharif and his party workers are talking about a man who spent around 11 years in jail and all the cases against him were fabricated,” he said.

He accused Nawaz Sharif of receiving hefty amounts from Osama bin Laden, the slain leader of al Qaeda, to topple the first government of Benazir Bhutto.
