A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight on Monday was cleared by security officials at Peshawar airport after a hoax bomb alert.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the flight, PK-350 was on its way to Peshawar from Karachi when the Karachi flight dispatch centre received a phone call about the presence of a bomb onboard the plane, just 10-15 minutes before its landing.
However, the aircraft safely landed at Peshawar airport at 11:45 am.
The captain had also alerted the control tower about the bomb threat.
“The passengers were also safely made to leave the aircraft following the landing,” added the PIA spokesperson.
The plane was parked at a separate place after which, the security officials and bomb disposal squad (BDS) did the necessary checks.
Once security clearance is given, the aircraft will be used for the next flight,” said the PIA spokesperson
