Death anniversary of Allama Iqbal observed

The 81st death anniversary of the Poet of the East, Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal was observed in Multan with reverence and solemnity.
Different programmes and seminars were organised to pay tribute to the great philosopher of the East, who awakened the Muslims of the subcontinent through his powerful poetry.
Speaking on the occasion, Multan Arts Council Director Muhammad Sajjad Jahania and PTI South Punjab Joint Secretary Lt. Col (retd) Abid Mahmood Shah Khaga said that Allama Iqbal played a vital role in creation of separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. They said that the great poet lives in the hearts of people and liked in various countries including Pakistan, India, Tajikistan, Iran, etc.
A large number of students, civil society members and women participated in the seminar. Various other ceremonies were also organised in the district in this connection.
