ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Police on Sunday said that they have arrested nine people from various areas of the city and recovered stolen bikes, tampered cars, liquor and weapons from their possession.

A police spokesperson said that the Golra police had arrested Muqam Khan and recovered a stolen bike from his possession.

Similarly, the Bhara Kahu police had arrested Fareed and recovered am unlicenced 30 bore pistol along with some bullets from his possession.

Separately, the Anti-Car Lifting Cell of the Islamabad Police recovered a car, which had been tampered, from the possession of Muhammad Afzal.

The Koral police arrested Israr and recovered 10 litres of wine from him. The Bani Gala police arrested Altaf and recovered two bottles of wine from him.

Moreover, the Sabzi Mandi police arrested Malik Umair for his alleged involvement in stealing a vehicle.

The Shams Colony police arrested Waqar and recovered 100 litres wine from him.

The Sihala police arrested Younas for selling firecrackers in the area.

Cases have been registered against these suspects and further investigations are underway. Meanwhile, Operations- DIG Waqaruddin Syed has called on all police officials to maintain high vigilance and monitor those involved in anti-social activities.

He said that it was the collective responsibility of every member of society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.

Separately, the Secretariat police have arrested a man for violating the ban on riding motorboats in the Rawal Dam. He has been booked for violating Section 144.


Further, the Koral police have registered a case of a young girl being allegedly kidnapped from the city. SH* told the police that SA* had allegedly kidnapped his daughter to allegedly sexually abuse her.

Several police precincts registered cases of cheques being dishonoured in different areas of the capital.

Muhammad Asad told the Margalla police that Atif Ali gave him a cheque for Rs150,000 which was dishonoured. In another incident, Zafar Mehmood told the Koral police that a cheque of Rs120,000, given to him by Muhammad Rehman, was dishonoured.

Separately, the Lohi Bher police registered a case against unidentified suspects after they allegedly quarrelled with their opponents and threatened them.

Muhammad Junaid told the Lohi Bher police that unidentified suspects had allegedly barged into his house and pistol-whipped him in the head leaving him injured.

The police registered cases of gangs quarrelling.

Ayaz Mehmood told the Sector I-9 police that Sabir, along with his 10 accomplices, beat him up. Similarly, Muhammad Seerat told the Khanna police that Imdad Hussain and his eight accomplices assaulted him and two others over an old dispute.

The police also registered different cases of robberies.

Muhammad Hanif told the Golra police that unidentified robbers broke the locks of his house and stole Rs50,000 in cash, cameras and other equipment.

Muhammad Aijaz told the Shalimar police that his motorbike worth of Rs100,000 was stolen. Asif Mehmood told Sabzi Mandi Police that Malik Umer, assisted by two others, had stolen his vehicle.
