Khyber secures first position in Tribal Sports Festival

Mohmand stands second in medals tally

LANDI KOTAL: The sports festival of tribal and frontier regions have almost concluded with Khyber district emerging victorious in first position closely followed by Mohmand district in men’s events.

District Bajaur clinched third position. Meanwhile the women events of tribal athletes have resumed at District headquarters.

In today’s events,in 800 metres men’s marathon Adnan Afridi of Khyber district secured first position while his fellow district sportsman Abdur Rehman clinched second position with Waqar of Bajaur district securing third position.

In 200 metres Wajid ali of Khyber district was the winner with Riaz of Bajaur district coming in second and Subhan Ali of Khyber district third.

In 400 metres Adnan Akber of Khyber district was victorious with Subhan Ali also from Khyber district coming in second.

Third position was clinched by Syed Murtaza of Kurram district, while in 100 metres Wajid Ali of Khyber district stood first, followed by Riaz Khan of Bajaur district and third by Adnan of Mohmand district.

In shotput Arif of Khyber district attained top spot with Khanzala of North Waziristan in second and Shahab of Bajaur district clinching third position.

In cycling in the team event first position was secured by Mohmand district, second by Bajaur district, while the third by Khyber district team.

In bodybuilding competition Bajaur district team stood first, Khyber district second while North Waziristan secured third.

In weight lifting Bajaur secured first position and Khyber second position. In Karate team event Khyber was first and Kurram district second and in Judo, Khyber was first and Kurram second.
