KARACHI: Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi organised an evening with writer Shehzad Sharjeel as part of its Rang-e-Yousufi series. The event held on Saturday was titled, ‘Aisa Kahan Se Laon Kay Tujh Sa Kahein Jisay’ [Where do I find another one like you].

Sharjeel read out two of his essays for the audience amid applause and praise. His essay titled ‘Muasharti Uloom’ [Social studies] garnered more appreciation from the audience. The piece was a blend of topics which are taboos in Pakistani society. The other essay was titled ‘Kuttay’ [Dogs]. The writer’s style was similar to legendary humour writers of the past but the reflection of present day sensibility set his work apart. The event was hosted by Shahid Rassam. These events are organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan for the promotion of art and literature. People from all walks of life present their material before the audience.
