Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons highlight the teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) such that the followers could lead their lives in line with the teachings and guidelines of the Holy Quran and Sunnah.

Though in Islamic perspective every night and day have its own significance, some nights have added importance such as Shab-e-Barat, Lailatul Qadar, Shab-e-Miraj, Ashura and the two nights of Eid.

On Shab-e-Baraat, Muslims believe, God showers infinite mercy and blessing upon human beings. Hence, many pray for the length of the night.
