Economic competitiveness: Superior technologies critical, LCCI president

‘Technologies can increase the effectiveness of business functions’.

LAHORE:

Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Shahzad Ali Malik said innovation is a key to economic competitiveness and urged research institutions and researchers to address gaps in the current system by developing superior technologies.

While speaking at a certificate distribution ceremony of a web development skills course conducted by LCCI, Malik urged the government to utilise maximum resources to promote information technology in the country, so Pakistan could join the club of technologically advanced nations. He gave examples of US and India, countries which were generating funds through exporting software.

While companies may develop internal business technologies to increase the effectiveness of business functions, they may also use personal digital products to enhance operations, he believed.
