It is important to mention here that local cinema is currently facing issues due to the lack of films available for screening. After the ban on Indian films, the practice of re-releasing previously successful projects has come into play to keep the industry afloat.

Halla Gulla is releasing under the banner of the Distribution Club and distributors are hoping to screen it in as many cinemas as possible. "In 2015, Halla Gulla proved to be a good business venture and we are expecting it to provide us the relief we currently need," a Distribution Club official told The Express Tribune, seeking anonymity. "Hollywood films are also playing in cinemas right now but we are hopeful that cinemagoers will give preference to local films over international ones. Halla Gulla is a family entertainer and therefore, appropriate for all audiences."
