Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has been appointed India’s next ambassador to the United States, reports said on Thursday.
The foreign ministry declined to confirm the appointment, but the Press Trust of India cited official sources as saying the posting had been cleared and a formal announcement was “expected soon”.
