KESC to raise power tariff... again
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority approved Rs 1.7 per unit increase in the tariff of KESC.
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority approved Rs 1.7 per unit increase in the tariff of the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation on Monday.
NEPRA allowed the increase in line with its fuel adjustment formula and a formal notification has been issued.
The increase from 6 paisas to Rs 1.70 will be inducted in electricity bills in phases, from June to December.
According to NEPRA, the new tariff will not be applicable on life line consumers.
Power conservation
The Karachi Energy Conservation Programme is a new social service initiative for Karachi's energy usage policy, with a principal goal of saving 200MW of electricity in the city by 2011. The Programme was launched in partnership with the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) and the citizens of Karachi supported by Karachi Electric Supply Company.
