LAHORE: A group of women and children protested in front of the Lahore Press Club on Thursday to urge the government not to show any mercy to convicted Indian spy Sarabjeet Singh.

The demonstration was arranged by an organisation calling itself the Pakistan Meo Youth Forum. The protesters, most of whom were children, said they had not been personally affected by the bombings in Lahore and Kasur Singh had been sentenced to death for, but they were taking a stand against terrorism.  “The allegations against Sarabjeet Singh have been proved and he is a RAW agent,” said Amjad Shareef Lone, the president of the forum. “Terrorism is our biggest problem. It has destroyed our country.”  The protesters held placards and chanted slogans demanding that the government not entertain any request to release the “Indian terrorist” from death row.
