Man shot dead over Rs20 dispute

Incident took place in the area of Sandha where Zulfiqar, 25, had a dispute with one of his customers

LAHORE: Four days after having a minor dispute with a customer, a tyre mender was shot dead in Lahore on Friday. The unfortunate incident took place in the area of Sandha where Zulfiqar, 25, the owner of a tyre puncture shop, had a dispute with one of his customers on April 8 over tyre repair charges. “Zulfiqar had asked for Rs70 for mending the motorbike puncture which enraged the man in question who had insisted to pay Rs50 which he [Zulfiqar] rejected,” the aggrieved family told the police. After the passage of four days, the same customer came to Zulfiqar’s shop, gunned him down and fled the scene, they added. According to the police, an FIR of the incident had been registered and search for the assailant is underway. In a similar incident in December last year, Muddat Hussain, a resident of Qasba Shah Hussain was killed over minor issue in Sargodha.
