RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army announced the promotions of four major generals to the rank of lieutenant general, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

The promoted officers include Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Maj Gen Nauman Mahmood, Maj Gen Azhar Abbas and Maj Gen Faiz Hameed.

40 army brigadiers promoted to the rank of major general

On April 3, the army's media wing confirmed promotions of 40 brigadiers to the rank of major general, including 11 from the Army Medical Corps.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the meeting of the promotion board at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
