KARACHI:
Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC), requesting bail and asking the court to declare the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) inquiry against him and his arrest illegal.
The plea argues that the manner in which he was arrested was against the law as, according to him, he was arrested for the sake of political revenge.

The women of his family were mistreated during the raid at his house. NAB hadn't provided any solid evidence against him and also failed to provide reasons for keeping him under remand.
The petition maintained that Durrani's arrest be declared illegal and he must be released on bail while the inquiry against him should also be ended. The petition has nominated the NAB chairman as party in the case.
