Senator Sherry Rehman on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan's comments where he stated that there was a better chance of peace talks between Pakistan and India if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the general elections.
In reply, the PPP senator said: "Pakistan does business with states not individuals".

She further commented that a sitting PM should not state a preference for dialogue with a certain candidate from another country during elections. "To say Modi will give us a better chance to talk is closing the door for others in India," she added.
PM Imran, speaking to a small group of foreign journalists, on Tuesday had said "if the next Indian government is led by the opposition Congress party, it might be too scared to seek a settlement with Pakistan over Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK), fearing a backlash from the right."
