Three-day arts, culture festival concludes
Festival celebrated Pakistan’s culture, heritage, lifestyle, musical traditions
ISLAMABAD:
A three-day colourful cultural festival about the "Colours of Islamabad" concluded in the federal capital on Sunday.
Taking place at the Arts and Craft Village, it had attracted crowds of families and youth with fun recreational activities.
The festival provided visitors with cultural information, shopping opportunities, cuisines, music, family fun activities and many more to the residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The festival celebrated Pakistan's culture, heritage, lifestyle, musical traditions and handcrafted products to promote and preserve the dying arts, crafts and traditions for the young generation as well as engaging the youth in healthy activities, said the organisers.
It featured artistically designed cultural pavilions which displayed a variety of arts, crafts, handmade and cultural products, clothing, fashion, beauty accessories, and food stalls.
Visitors could engage in a host of mini art and craft workshops such as crafting sessions, debates, storytelling, fun competitions, youth art competitions, an art exhibition along with sessions of violin and guitar playing for the youth which focused on the rich diversity of the cultural heritage of the country.
The art and craft making session included paper craft, mosaic art, quilling paper craft, vase painting, face painting, beaded jewellery making session, weaving and knitting session. Other activities included arts competition and exhibition, art and craft stalls, music competitions, general stalls, high heel race challenge, food stalls, cooking competition, sky lantern festival, sessions on how to grow indoor plants, first aid training, violin and guitar sessions etc.
