The police were informed three hours after the incident
QUETTA:
A woman, who is said to be a singer based in Peshawar, was kidnapped from Quetta on Wednesday in what appears to be a case of domestic dispute. Police said the woman was whisked away by her father who has taken her to their home in Peshawar. According to sources, Sameera Naz was taken away from her residence on Mekangi Road by unidentified people at around 6:00 am in the jurisdiction of Gualmandi Police Station. DIG operations Hamid Shahkil said the police were informed three hours after the incident took place and thereafter security has been tightened at all the city’s entry and exit points. “The brother-in-law of the abducted woman told the police that she was kidnapped by her father as he opposed her marriage,” Shakil said.
