GUJRANWALA: A man was shot at and injured during a robbery bid in Alipur Chattha Town, Express News reported on Friday.

A police official said that Asif had set up a mobile phone shop at Rasool Nagar Road near Madina Chowk. He added on the day of the incident, Asif was present in his shop when two unidentified armed robbers barged in.

He mentioned that the outlaws held the shop owner at gunpoint before looting cash and cellphones. The official highlighted that when the accused were fleeing, Asif put up a resistance and tried to overpower them. As a result, the robbers opened fire on him and fled the scene.

The victim suffered bullet injuries and was shifted to Gujranwala District Hospital for treatment. The doctors at the health facility said that the victim’s condition was critical due to excessive bleeding.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and started investigations.
