ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notices to the respondents in a petition seeking a vote recount in the Balochistan Assembly’s PB-41 constituency.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh heard the petition filed by Balochistan Awami Party candidate Muneebur Rehman. The petitioner had pleaded for the recount on the grounds that he had lost the election by only 350 votes and the Election Commission of Pakistan had conducted a recount of votes at only two polling stations.
After serving the notices to the respondents, the bench adjourned the hearing of the case.
