OGRA hikes LPG price by Rs3 per kg
An 11.8kg domestic cylinder will sell for Rs1,564 in April
ISLAMABAD:
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Monday hiked the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs3 per kilogram for April.
According to a notification, Ogra has fixed the LPG price at Rs133 per kg. With an increase of Rs41, 11.8kg domestic cylinder will now be sold for Rs1,564 in April 2019, up from Rs1,522.6 in March.
This is the fourth increase during 2019 as announced by Ogra, largely due a surge in international prices. The producers’ price of LPG (propane 40% and butane 60% - two components of LPG) has been determined at Rs73,609.72 per ton, compared to Rs70,620.09 per ton determined for March by the regulator.
The producers’ price included excise duty of Rs85 per ton, excluding petroleum levy. Under this head, the producer price of 11.8kg cylinder has been worked out at Rs868.59, said the notification. As per the notification, the marketing/distribution margin has been set at Rs35,000 per ton and Rs413 per 11.8kg cylinder. A petroleum levy of Rs4,669 per ton will be also charged, which is Rs55.09 for 11.8kg cylinder.
