Nearly 900 students pass out from CUI Wah Campus

As many as 882 students graduate from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) on Saturday during the university’s 123rd Convocation. As many as 30 students bagged top positions, winning gold, silver and bronze medals.

The graduating cohort included 693 men and 189 women students of CUIs’ Wah Campus who were conferred degrees for completing undergraduate and graduate levels in different disciplines including management sciences, electrical and computer engineering, civil engineering, computer science and mathematics.

CUI Rector Prof Dr Raheel Qamar presided over the event while Senator Rukhsana Zuberi also attended the convocation ceremony.

A total of 30 graduates were awarded medals, with 12 students being awarded gold medals, nine be awarded silver medals and nine students were awarded bronze medals on account of their excellent academic performance.


Campus Director Prof Dr Tayyeb Akram briefed the audience about achievements of their campus and future development plans of CUI-Wah Campus.

The CUI Rector Prof Dr Qamar highlighted the national and international rankings where CUI was listed, research achievements and success of the university.

In his closing remarks, he congratulated all the graduating students and their parents on attaining degrees and advised them to work hard to contribute to the development of the nation.

The CUI rector also inaugurated the newly constructed block of the mechanical engineering department.
