Balochistan Food Authority seals two factories over substandard production
Director general went on to say that the BFA would continue carrying out inspection
QUETTA:
Stepping up its efforts against substandard and harmful commodities, the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) raided two factories on Spinny Road in the provincial capital and sealed them for manufacturing substandard food products.
BFA Director General Bashir Ahmed supervised the raid, during which substandard ingredients were found being used in the production of ice creams and juices.
The authority said that the sanitary conditions at the production facilities were also not up to the mark.
“There will be no compromise on issues related to public health, especially that of children,” said Ahmed, adding that stern action would be taken against those involved in manufacturing substandard food items.
The director general went on to say that the BFA would continue carrying out inspections in factories, hotels and eateries to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, hygiene standards and raw material quality.
