Another incident of domestic torture on a woman has been reported in the city. This is the fifth incident to be reported in Lahore during the last four days.
This time, the victim was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon by her brother-in-law on a minor issue in Chung police limits. Police said the victim Abida Bibi had exchanged harsh words with her brother-in-law, Zahid on a domestic issue. This infuriated the suspect who attacked the victim with a knife. She suffered serious injuries. Her daughter also suffered injuries during the conflict.
The victims were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect fled from the scene. Police have registered an FIR against the suspect.
A day earlier, a woman Sonia Bibi had alleged that her husband had tortured her. On Friday, an FIR of torture by husband and in-laws was registered in Shadbagh. The victim Aneela Mubashir, a resident of Shadbagh, in her complaint to police 20 days back, had revealed that she had been the victim of severe domestic violence for the last four years. Her husband and in-laws would brutally torture her on minor issues. They would beat her up with plastic pipes and spill hot oil on her body. Even, she had to go through a miscarriage due to the torture, she had alleged. Police had registered an FIR against the accused and were investigating the matter further.
On Thursday, an incident of domestic torture was reported in North Cantonment police limits. The victim identified as Hajra Bibi had accused her husband and in-laws of brutally torturing her to bring money from her parents.
On Wednesday, Asma Aziz, a resident of Defence C, had alleged, through a video message, that she had to face humiliation at the hands of Kahna police when she went there for registration of an FIR against her husband Mian Faisal and his employee Rashid Ali. The victim had alleged that her husband, in connivance with his employees, had brutally tortured her for refusing to dance in front of his friends. He had also shaved her head.
Police had registered an FIR against the accused and arrested them.
