Senate chairman seeks report from foreign secretary
ISLAMABAD:
Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Thursday took serious notice of firing of mortar shells by Iranian forces in the border village of Talap and adjoining areas of Chagai district.
The chairman took the notice on the complaint of local people and sought a report from the foreign secretary over the violation of borders and the dangers posed to the life and property of the people living in the border areas.
Sanjrani directed the federal government to share information about steps taken to resolve the issue.
In a letter written to the foreign secretary, the chairman said that the matter should be taken up with the relevant authorities of Iran and a comprehensive report should be submitted to him in 15 days.
