Paris Air Show: Qatar Airways orders six Boeing 777s

Qatar Airways has announced that it has given a boost to its Boeing 777 fleet with a fresh order for six aircraft valued at $1.7 billion. The announcement was made at a press conference on the opening day of Paris Air Show being held at Le Bourget near the French capital, says a press release. Qatar Airways has a total fleet of 98 aircraft, of which 25 are Boeings. Addressing the media, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “The Boeing 777 has become the flagship long-haul aircraft in our fleet and, since we started taking delivery of this aircraft in 2007, we have been able to open exciting and diverse routes around the world.” PRESS RELEASE
