Development: Hospital upgrade to be complete soon

The hospital will also be provided with a modern emergency ward

FAISALABAD: The upgrade of General Hospital would be completed by December 2011 at a cost of Rs400 million, Dr Abbas Ali, the medical superintendent, said on Tuesday. The project was initiated in October 2009. Under the project, the hospital, presently running with 60 beds, will have 268 beds. Dr Ali said that Rs340 million had been spent on the project so far.  He said that a five-storey nursing hostel and 24 houses each for doctors and paramedics were a part of the project. The hospital will also be provided with a modern emergency ward, operation theatre, a mosque and elevators for patients.
