Quality education among our top priorities, says minister
Education minister says modern methods of education are being introduced in government schools
LAHORE:
Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas has said the promotion of standard and quality education in all government schools was among the top priorities of the government.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the admission campaign 2019 in Government Primary School Gujarpura on Saturday. Along with him, Education Lahore ECO Dr Pervez Akhtar and Lahore DC Saleha Saeed were also present on the occasion.
“The condition of government schools is not good which has indirectly benefited the private schools. However, the services of private schools cannot be ignored,” he said. He vowed that the government schools would be standardised across the country.
The provincial minister maintained the modern methods of education were being introduced in the government schools which would help eliminate rot learning. “The students and teachers of the government schools are the valuable assets of the nation and it is our duty to restore their respect and provide facilities to them.”
On this occasion, the student also presented national songs while books and bags were also distributed among the new students.
Meanwhile, the school education department has decided that the administrative officers would adopt two government schools from each town to ensure the promotion of quality education. Initially, the administrative officers including Education CEO, DC, DDO, DEO and DOs would bear all the expenses of these schools personally as a national responsibility.
