KARACHI: Following the attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani on Friday, the police and law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) carried out raids late Friday night in East zone and other areas and took into custody more than a dozen suspects. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed place for interrogation while geofencing of the area was also being done.

According to sources, a targeted raid was carried out by the police, LEAs and the counter-terrorism department (CTD) in areas including Quaidabad, Hussain Hazara Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Orangi Town, North Karachi, PIB Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Dalmia and other areas.

Meanwhile, Aziz Bhatti Police registered a FIR against unidentified persons. The FIR has been registered under the charges of murder, attempt to murder and anti-terrorism.
