Orphans at Rozatul Atfal in Peshwar enjoy funfair; flag hoisting ceremonies held in districts

Like other parts of the country Pakistan Day celebrated in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday with national zeal amid promises to work for the development and prosperity of motherland.
The day started in the provincial capital with 21-cannon salute and prayers at mosques for the solidarity and integrity of the country. Rallies and functions were also organized to highlight the importance of Pakistan Day.
Governor Shah Farman on behalf of the President Arif Alvi conferred four civil awards at ceremony at Governor House.
Cricketer Yasir Shah got Sitara-I-Imtiaz in acknowledgement of his extra ordinary services in the field of Cricket, Professor Dr Iftikhar Ahmad in the field of education, Khwaja Safar Ali in the field of Metal work and Akhtar Gul, Deputy Director in the field of Public Services was conferred with Tamgha-I-Imtiaz.
ISPR arranged an exhibition at Karnal Sher Khan Stadiam Peshawar in which different stalls were presented in connection with March 23.
A flag hoisting ceremony to mark the 79th Pakistan Day was held at provincial headquarters of Rescue 1122. The contingent of Rescue 1122 presented salute to the national flag.
Tahafuz Pakistan event was organized at Auqaf hall by Jamaat Islami and paid tributes to services of founder leaders of Pakistan.
Capital City Police arranged a flag car and motor cycle rally on Khyber Road Peshawar to remark Pakistan Day and create awareness among people regarding national day of Pakistan. The office-bearers of Chitral Union staged a rally at Qissa Khwani Bazar Peshawar to mark the day which were largely participated by the cross section of the society. A ceremony in this connection held at Role Model Government Primary School Sherpao Colony Kohat which was attended by Advisor to Chief Minister for Education Ziaullah Bangash and others.
March 23 celebration took place in Timergara Dir Lower. Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Mr. Shaukat Ali Yousafzai along-with District Nazim Dir Lower Muhammad Rasool Khan hosted up the national flag and received Salami from smart contingent of Dir Levies.
National songs, poetry competition was held at River Beach in Atif Shaheed Park Dera Ismail Khan which was attended by local government Nazims, poets, civil society workers, teachers, students and others.
A function was held in Government Shaheed Sher Nawaz Centennial Model High School Tank, South Waziristan in which the students performed national anthems, tableau and paid tributes to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and others, Deputy District Education Officer Musarrat Hussain Baloch, District Administration Officers and Pakistan Army Officer were present.
Pakistan Resolution Day event was held at Governor Model School in North Waziristan on Saturday, which was attended N-Waziristan DC Abdul Nasir Khan and top brass of the stationed security forces in the tribal district.
Similarly in Khyber tribal district, several functions were held along with a rally was arranged to mark the day.
A huge gathering and cake cutting ceremony was held at Khyber DC office which was attended by Pakistan cricketer Shahenshah Afridi, Hammad Azam, Tariq Khan, FATA super league chairman Alhaj Taimur afridi, MNA Muneer Orakzai, political tehsidar Naik Muhmamad and FATA region cricket chairman Kabir Afridi were part of the function.
Meanwhile a rally arranged by the PTI Khyber district was held here to commemorate the 23 March, the sacrifices of the ancestors.
A Pakistan Day event was held at Rozatul Atfal orphanage in Peshawar. “Yaum-e-Pakistan compels us to serve our fellow countrymen particularly the underprivileged and the vulnerable segments of the society,” said Roza Tul Atfal Yasmin Begum.
The function was arranged by the Lion’s Club Peshawar, Pakistan Red-Crescent, Women Chamber of Commerce and Roza Tul Atfal to bring smiles to the faces of the orphans of the district.
The organisers placed stalls of foods, gifts, cooking party, arranged slides, swings, and while the uniqueness of the function was that all food was home cooked by the participants and organizers.
“I don’t know what the day is all about, but it’s a blessed day for all of kids like me, we have ice creams of various flavors, fruit charts, Biryani, chicken pieces, music and cream cake today, never have eat such items in a day, today I full of tastes and food, enjoying the day with fullest,” Hasssan Ali an orphan, who enrolled in the institution at the age of three.
