Terror bid foiled in Quetta, three bullet-riddled bodies found in Barkhan

The law enforcement agencies foiled a terror bid by recovering a remote-controlled explosive device planted in the farmlands near  Essa Nagri area of Brewery Road on Saturday.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached to the site and diffuse the bomb successfully, the BDS officials confirmed that the explosives were up to three kilograms in weight filled with nails to maximise the damage on explosion.

The local police lodged the case, while further investigations were underway.

Separately, police discovered three bullet-riddled bodies in Tehsil-Rakhni area of Balochistan's Barkhan district.

Haji Muhammad Zamri, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Barkhan, confirmed the incident, saying that the bodies were found from Zadin area and all the victims had been shot dead with multiple bullet.

The bodies were shifted to civil hospital Rakhni for an autopsy, where they were identified as Elam Deen, Nizam-ud-Din and Raza Khan, all were residents of Dera Ismail Khan of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, he added.

“The two among the deceased were brothers, and so far no one has claimed responsibility for killing them,” DSP said, adding that the bodies were handed over to their heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities and later dispatcher to their native areas.

The local police started investigation into the case after lodging First Information Report (FIR) against unknown assailants.
