Police nab ‘notorious’ gangster in Toba Tek Singh

Accused was wanted in several cases and had been on the run for two years

Police claimed to have arrested a notorious gangster during a raid in Toba Tek Singh on Friday.

Saddar Kamalia Police Station SHO Saifullah told Express News that the force received a tip-off that a wanted gangster, belonging to a notorious criminal gang, was present in the area.

He added that the police team immediately conducted a raid and nabbed the suspect who was identified as Ghulam Murtaza. The official maintained that the culprit had gunned down two people during a robbery bid in 2016.

The SHO mentioned that the accused and his gang used to commit robberies and was involved in carrying out criminal activities in different areas.

Police nab four notorious gangsters

Saifullah revealed that the suspect was wanted by police in several criminal cases in the district and had been absconding for two years.


Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the suspect and opened investigation.

Earlier, Okara police arrested a suspect who shot and killed a man during a robbery bid.

The police received a tip off that a person involved in a murder-cum-robbery case had been spotted in the area. The police team raided a hideout and managed to nab the culprit. The accused was identified as Aslam Bhutta.

During interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was a schoolteacher. Aslam and his accomplices, identified as Saeed, Nisar, Amanat and Liaquat, gunned down Rasheed and injured his brother during a robbery. The culprits snatched Rs0.12 million from the victims and managed to escape from the spot.

The police also seized the murder weapon and cash from the possession of the outlaw.
