K-P CM, governor discuss provision of internet in ex-Fata

High level meeting to resolve the communication problems of merges districts was held in Islamabad

PESHAWAR: People of merged tribal districts need access to high-speed internet services, Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan concurred on Wednesday.

A high level meeting to resolve the communication problems of the merges districts of K-P held in Islamabad decided that every effort would be made to bridge the prevailing digital divide in the province and the country at the earliest.

The meeting co-chaired by Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was briefed in detail about the communication problems particularly the provision of internet facilities unique to each of these seven districts so that the people of these area are brought on a par with those of not only other parts of the country but connected to the outside world.

CM said ex-Fata had been kept deprived of all modern facilities for the last 70 years. Governor and CM stressed on the provision of fastest internet facilities to the people of these districts. PM’s Adviser Arbab Shahzad attended the meeting besides K-P Finance Minister Taimur Salim Jagrha.
