Sindh's Awami National Party President Shahi Syed said on Tuesday that the presence of paramilitary forces in Karachi is essential for the restoration of peace in the city.

Referring to the extra-judicial killing of an unarmed youth at the hands of five Rangers officials on June 8, he added that the Rangers institution cannot collectively be held responsible for a mistake committed by an individual.
Syed stressed that the presence of Rangers is crucial in Karachi to restore peace in the city.
He also said that all three coalition partners in Sindh have full confidence in the law enforcing agencies.
"These agencies have full authority to combat target killers and extortionists," he added.
