Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, during his meeting with the Communist Party director on Wednesday, reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project saying that the "mega project is contributing towards the country's economic development and prosperity".

The foreign minister also expressed satisfaction over the deliberations in the first Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and China, reflecting complete convergence of views on issues of mutual interest.
He appreciated Chinese consistent support for Pakistan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Yang Jiechi stated that, "Pak-China relationship was time-tested and an example in inter-state relations."
"CPEC has injected a fresh impetus to bilateral economic cooperation."
Yang also expressed satisfaction over the high-level contact between Pakistan and China and expressed hope that Prime Minister Imran Khan would attend the belt and road conference set to take place in Beijing.

Jeishi also assured the foreign minister of his full support in building closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the new era.
