10 prisoners escape from Gwadar PS

Police say captives took away three automatic weapons with them

Ten under trial prisoners involved in murder, attempt to murder, dacoity and theft escaped from Gwadar police station lockup after injuring a cop and also took away the police weaponry on Sunday.

Police said that the prisoners held one constable hostage when he went inside the lockup on the information that one of the accused had fled from captivity.

As he entered the lockup, the detainees held him hostage and managed to escape. When the other cop tried to block their way, they opened fire on him with the police weaponry and injured him seriously.

“Escaped under trial prisoners took away three automatic weapons with them,” police officials confirmed.

Soon after receiving the information, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Till late night, the Levies had arrested two men from Degree College area in Gwadar.

Law enforcement agencies are in pursuit of the accused.
