Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday congratulated the Pakistan Cricker Board (PCB) and the country’s security forces for holding a “successful PSL extravaganza in Pakistan”.
“Congratulations to Quetta Gladiators and their manager and my friend Viv Richards on their win,” the premier said in a tweet.
“InshaAllah, the next PSL will be held entirely in Pakistan,” PM Imran went on to add.
The grand finale to the sports extravaganza – staged in the country on Sunday after a long cricketing drought – signaled a definite triumph of peace.
Quetta Gladiators stormed past Peshawar Zalmi with relative ease, courtesy a ruthless team bowling performance led by young pacer Muhammad Hasnain.
Earlier, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said that successfully hosting PSL 4 in the country was “the best answer to its enemies”.
He also took to Twitter to convey Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s message.
“COAS congratulates all on successful organisation of PSL especially PCB, all teams, organisers, administration, Sindh Rangers, Sindh Police, Law enforcement agencies and people of Karachi,” he wrote.
