Power Supply: Company to recover Rs7.7 billion

The Lahore Electric Supply Company has to recover Rs7.7 billion outstanding electricity dues from federal and provincial government departments, according to Lahore Electric Supply Company spokesperson Javed Ahmad. The Lahore Electric Supply Company recovery teams were conducting raids on a very frequent basis and connections of many federal and provincial offices had been disconnected, said Ahmad. However, electricity supply would resume as officials assured that they would clear all outstanding dues by June 30. Government departments which defaulted include Pakistan Railways, which owes Rs198.01 million, Garrison Army North Lahore which owes Rs108.16 million and Lahore Airport which has to pay Rs74.33 million.
