Home dept bans digging of roads under Section 144

The Home and Tribal Affairs Department on Sunday imposed and a six-month ban on digging and damaging roads in the provincial capital under Section 144.
As per the notification, all the government and semi-government departments have been directed to get a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the district administration before starting any repair and maintenance work.
Moreover, all such departments have been given directives to pay for renovation in case of any construction. The officials found guilty of violating the law would be punished, it added.
