QUETTA: Two out of the three oxygen plants of Quetta Civil Hospital, which were out of order for almost three years, have been made functional after continuous efforts of 15 days by a technical team from Karachi.

In a statement, Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Saleem Abro said that the technical team headed by Civil Engineer Mubshir Khan had successfully made functional the two oxygen plants.

He lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Health Minister Naseebullah Marri in making the oxygen plants operational. MS Abro said the chief minister along with the health minister has put the hospital in the right direction.

He said the plants had been non-functional for three years owing to the absence of technicians. The hospital was completely dependent on costly oxygen brought from the market, he maintained.

He called upon the civil society and media to visit the trauma centre at Civil Hospital to inspect the functioning of oxygen plants.
