LAHORE:
A man allegedly killed his four-year-old nephew over a family dispute and dumped the body into a canal in Burki.

Police said that Shehzad, a resident of Barki Road, had gone to meet his sister at her house in Mandianawala village a few days ago. In the village, his wife Shazia and her brother Imran exchanged harsh words. Later, Imran kidnaped his nephew and strangled him to death. Later, three suspects, including husband, wife and a friend, dumped the body into a canal to conceal their crime.

Police said Imran had confessed to his crime while being interrogated in custody. Police also fished the child's body out of the canal. SHO Barki police station Sajjad Butt said Imran, his wife and their friend have been arrested.

In a separate incident, a 26-year old security guard was injured when a kite string slit his throat in Green Town on Saturday. The injured was shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.
