Security forces foil terrorism bid

After four hours of suspension, the train service was restored

QUETTA: The law enforcement agencies, including police, foiled a bid of terrorism and defused a 2kgs explosive device placed on a railway track near the bus terminal in Dera Murad Jamali, Nasirabad district, on Friday.

According to police sources, unidentified miscreants planted the bomb for targeting the Rawalpindi-bound Jaffar Express passenger train.

Acting on a tip, security forces along with police and a team of the bomb disposal squad reached the site, cordoned off the area and defused the 2kgs explosive device.

Later, after four hours of suspension, the train service was restored. An investigation is under way.
