QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Friday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan requesting him to form a steering committee to monitor all development projects executed in the province under the federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

“To ensure timely completion [of] and transparency in the projects of the federal PSDP in the best interest of Balochistan, there is a dire need of an institutional agreement,” wrote the chief minister in his letter to the PM.

CM Kamal lauded PM Imran for taking keen interest in the development of Balochistan, saying “under your dynamic and vibrant leadership, Balochistan is being envisioned as a prosperous and developed province of the country”.

“The Balochistan government is more than willing to propose a steering committee to monitor all development projects being executed in the province under the federal PSDP,” said CM Kamal in his letter, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune.

For the steering committee, the CM proposed himself as the chairman and Balochistan chief secretary, P&D additional chief secretary, National Highway Authority members, Commander Southern Command representative, Gwadar Port chairman, GDA director general and QESCO CEO as members of the committee.

CM Kamal urged Prime Minister Imran to direct the Planning Commission to issue notification regarding formation of a steering committee.
