Fake pir robs family of its belongings
Police registers FIR and conducts raids to arrest the accused
MUZAFFARGARH:
A fake pir deprived a family of its belongings and fled with the booty in Muzaffargarh’s Chowk Sarwar Shaheed area, Express News reported.
Police said that the marriage ceremony of Muhammad Nawaz’s daughter Hajra Bibi was under way in Chak Chah Dhengan Wala.
The girl’s cousin Yasin invited a ‘pir’ to the house for performing amal to eliminate influence of evilish powers. After examining the surroundings, the culprit asked the victims to bring some milk so that he could carry out the amal.

While performing amal, the accused mixed medicine in the drink. However, when Nawaz and his family consumed it, they fell unconscious.
Taking advantage of the situation, the fake pir stole cash, jewellery, motorcycle and other valuables before fleeing. Later, when the victims gained consciousness, they realised that they had been robbed.
Nawaz immediately lodged a complaint at the police station. The police have registered an FIR and also conducted raids to arrest the accused.
On February 22, a fake faith healer was arrested by police in Multan’s Shujabad area.
