Japan looks to increase investment in Pakistan
PM Imran said the government was formulating a strategy to create an environment conducive for business
ISLAMABAD:
To increase Tokyo’s engagements in Islamabad, the Japanese government has decided to support its companies for increasing investment in Pakistan, said Mitsubishi Corporation Chief Executive Kimihide Ando.
Leading a delegation of Mitsubishi Corporation comprising the company’s country head and other high-level officials, Kimihide called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday to discuss his company’s investment plans in Pakistan.
Appreciating the government’s business-friendly policies, the chief executive expressed his intention to strengthen the company’s role in meeting energy requirements of the country. He also briefed PM Imran on the long association of the Japanese company with Pakistan, which spanned over six decades.

He also shared that Mitsubishi had had great experience of undertaking profitable business ventures in Pakistan.
PM Imran said the government was formulating a strategy to create an environment conducive for business, besides bringing reforms to ensure ease of doing business for foreign investors.
He welcomed the company’s interest in exploring further business opportunities in the country.
